How to Prepare BOQ for Tile Flooring, Dadoing, Wall Cladding, and Anti-Skid Tile Flooring?

In this article, we explained how to prepare a bill of quantity for Tile Flooring, Dadoing, Wall Cladding, and Anti-Skid Tile Flooring with general notes and BOQ sample

 

 

GENERAL NOTES PROVIDE TO CONTRACTOR IN BOQ ON TILE LAYING WORK

1. The sample of tiles/slabs is to be submitted to the Consultant/Engineer for approval prior to procurement and execution.

2. For floor tiles, all edges are to be sorted for straight edges before laying. The tile will be laid after approval from the Consultant / Engineer at the site

3. The rate to include all mirror machine polishing for granite and wax mirror polishing or Titanium polishing for Kota stone. The final decision will be as per the consultants’ instructions.

4. The cost of tile/stone mentioned below is the maximum cost and is the delivered cost at the site. In no circumstances it should exceed the one mentioned in the respective items and is inclusive of all material costs, transportation, Octroi if applicable, loading-unloading, and all taxes, statutory as applicable.

5. For staircase treads and risers, the stone shall be in one piece. The contractor to measure the dimensions at the site before ordering the materials.

6. All the flooring material shall be free from any cracks/deformities/damages to color variations.

7. Tile Should be of the first Quality

8. Tiles should be cut with diamond-type blades only, any cut tiles having chipping will be rejected

9. Prior to fixing the floor tiles/stone, on-site by-products such as Plaster of Paris dust & particles, Saw-dust, brick & aerated block particles, etc mixing with sand bed shall strictly not be permitted

10. The Cost of Flooring/ skirting shall be inclusive of grouting with matching color of grout or as specified.

11. Cost should be inclusive of Breaking the plaster on existing walls to flush the skirting it should also include the cost of jad filling & making 6 mm groove

12. The Cost should be inclusive of wastage, cartage & hauling stone slab/ Floor Tiles up to the desired floor, regular housekeeping maintenance, and final cleaning and handover.

13. Granite / Marble / Kota / Tiles shall be free from color variation

14. Manufacturer must submit certification of Anti-skid as homogenous tile - Texture to be felt.

15. Mode of measurement shall be laid area only

 

 

 

BILL OF QUANTITY FOR TILE FLOORING

Providing and laying vitrified tile flooring with 3mm Spacers  CM 1:4 (1 Part Cement: 4 Part M Sand) of 20mm average. _________ brand)  of vitrified tiles of approved shade & laying pattern as per drawing in flooring with 3mm spacer joints, laid on 20mm thick cement mortar 1:4 (1 cement: 4 coarse sand) / Tile adhesive by weber / approved equivalent make, including grouting the joints with graphite grey epoxy resin based grout PPDG-05 of AGL / Myk make or equivalent and matching pigments, etc. with water absorption less than 0.08%and conforming to IS:15622, of approved, make, in all colors and shades cleaned & washed with a suitable effective Cleaning agent or any suitable means as per instructions of EIC, covering to protect tile with  275 GSM – 2 mm thick Floor guard make or equivalent, joints to be taped, should remain intact till handing over, removed & disposed of out of the site after completion, etc., complete. The rates quoted shall include the Rate required to lay the tiles at the proper level if required, the Rate & cutting of tiles for laying borders/ patterns, etc, complete in all respects as per details.

BILL OF QUANTITY FOR WALL TILE PROVIDING AND FIXING | BOQ OF TILES DADOING/ CLADDING ON WALL

WALL TILE CLADDING

Providing and fixing in position of Tiles Dadoing/ Cladding on the wall with below specified types and sizes of tiles, sizes, and patterns as mentioned below at specified area as per the approved drawings. The tiles shall be fixed with cement mortar and slurry paste backing of an average of 20mm thick as per the site requirement in CM 1:5 ratio (1-part approved Cement & 5 M-Sand). 20mm thick is including providing rough plaster backing of 10-15mm thick in CM 1:5 and making the surface rough where the tiles are to be fixed to the existing walls as required. The tile joints should be with approved 3mm thick PVC spacer joints and PVC corner/edge beadings of approved size. Joints shall be properly grouted and finished with jointing compound of Epoxy grout and matching pigment of approved make. The finishing of the tile Dadoing work should be a proper line, level, plumb, pattern, matching to the flow grains, etc.., as per the detailed drawings. Quoted Rate shall include all materials, labor, cutting, necessary cut-out for services, chemical wash during handover, tools & tackles, plant & machinery, lead & lift, surface preparation, curing, cleaning, etc.., complete at all floors & levels as per the drawing, specifications and as directed by the Engineer In charge.

BOQ OF ANTI-SKID TILE FLOORING

 

 

Providing and laying vitrified Antiskid tile flooring with 3mm Spacers CM 1:4 (1 Part Cement: 4 Part M-Sand) of 20mm average. _______ brand Joints between tiling to be filled with approved Epoxy grout of approved shade as per manufacturers specifications. Rate to include cost for laying tiles to the approved pattern, design as directed by Architect, including curing, acid wash, etc. The cost includes covering to protect tile with 275 GSM – 2 mm thick Floor guard make or equivalent, joints to be taped, should remain intact till handing over, removed & disposed of out of the site after completion, etc., complete. The rates quoted shall include the Rate required to lay the tiles in the proper level if required, the Rate & cutting of tiles for laying borders/ patterns, etc, complete in all respects as per details
