Outer diameter (O.D.) (D) = 21mm

Thickness = 2mm

Inner diameter (I.D.) (d) = 21mm – 2mm – 2mm = 17mm

 

How to calculate the weight of hollow circular steel pipes

Therefore, the volume of the hollow pipe is given by the formula,

 

Volume of hollow pipe = (Ï€×((D²- d²)/4)×L)

 

V = (3.142 × ((0.021² - 0.017²)/4) ×1) = (3.142 × (0.000152/4)×1) = 0.000119396 cum

V = 0.000119396 cum

 

 

Note: the density of mild steel is taken as 7850kg/m³

 

Weight of hollow pipe = (Volume × density) = (0.000119396 ×7850) = 0.9372586kg/meter
