Generally, we have to answer 3 questions for proper planning:

What to do?

How to do?

Who's going to do it?

For construction planning, we should perform it for several works

1.   business strategies

2.   Tender Plans

3.   Contract Plans

4.   Material Plans

5.   Labour Plans

6.   Time Estimates and Planning

7.   Payment Plans

These plans will not be related to one other, but these plans should be done with four criteria which are

1. work breakdown for each process involved in the project activities.

2.  Having a clear picture of the sequence involved in the project to be done.

3. Representation of functions.

4. The resources, time, and cost of individual activities should be calculated.

Planning requires the hard work of the planning team. A planner must know the different types of work and be familiar with the terms and knowledge used in general practice. In addition, the project team should seek expert advice, including actual construction experience. It helps to create a realistic plan and then avoids site problems

STEPS INVOLVED IN PROJECT PLANNING

The following steps are the guideline to create a project plan:

 

1)  Define the

 

a) Statement of work

 

b) Work method statement

 

c)  A Sequence of work.

 

2)  Create Work Breakdown Framework (WBS) to create a complete list of functions

 

3)  Create the Organization Breakdown Framework (OBS) and link it to the Work Breakdown Framework

 

4)  Determine the relationship between actions.

 

5) Determine the duration of operations, cost, and resource requirements.
