Industrial and multiphase plugs and sockets provide a connection to the electrical mains rated at higher voltages and currents than household plugs and sockets. They are commonly used in polyphase systems, with high currents, or when they need protection against environmental hazards.

The color of an industrial plug and socket is strictly tied to the voltage. For Example, the blue products have a voltage of 200v, and the red refers to 380v. By knowing this, you can’t be wrong when choosing the voltage.

Why can’t you use household plug and socket for industrial applications?

There are two reasons.

First, the industrial utility uses 3 phase electricity, which determines that the industrial socket and plug 2 phase power are completely different from the home-purpose connectors.

Second, the home plug and socket do not have adequate security configuration to meet industrial application requirements.
