WHAT ARE THE THINGS USED IN CONSTRUCTION FOR SAFETY PURPOSES?
THERE ARE 5 PRACTICE OF CONSTRUCTION SAFETY SHOULD BE FOLLOWED BY SITE ENGINEER TO ENSURE SAFETY OF EACH AND EVERY PERSON IN SITE
TAKE LOOK AT IT
PPE-PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
PPE stands for personal protective equipment. PPE means any device or appliances designed to be used or held by an individual for protection against one or more health and safety risks.
The very first practice that everyone has to follow before he/she enters a construction site is the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). The various objects that are used as PPE:
1. Hard Hats
2. Reflective Safety Vest
3. Gloves
4. Safety Belts
5. Goggles
6. Steel-Toe Boots
Second, comes the measure for arresting the various kinds of accidents.
1. Fall From Height: Of all the accidents this type contributes the most. measures taken against them are
a. Safety barrication: All floors must be barricaded after the slab along with openings in the slabs.
b. Protected walkway: For workers working at heights at the edges, protective walkways must be provided.
2. Electrocution: This accident generally occurs due to lack of training and ignorance of workers and supervisors, generally ignored, but the second most frequent construction hazard
a. Residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) needs to be provided in every construction site.
b. All the electrical works are to do in the daytime and by certified electricians only.
c. We should use industrial distribution board & plugs for industrial based construction
.
3. Struck By Falling Objects
a. A multi-layered safety net is provided around the periphery of the building to capture all objects that fall from it.
b. If heavy work is being carried out above an area, the site is blocked and providing alternative access.
4. Machinery Accidents
a. All the machines are checked periodically by safety officers for the guards on the wheels and other exposed part which can be cause accident.
b. Trained operators are employed.
5. Fire: Fire extinguishers must be provided at each site, and if the size of the site is large, the extinguisher should be accessible. Therefore, many extinguishers are placed in the field.
.
6. Getting hit by a vehicle: Daily morning checks of breaks and horns are carried out.
7. Trench collapses: All parts of the excavated area shall be blocked and excavation shall be carried out at a specified angle by the design engineers.
Third, safety training: All employees and workers should receive safety training before starting work, and various training programs are held periodically to ensure that everyone understands the procedures. These include training, first aid training, altitude training, wearing a Safety belt, fire extinguisher training, and machinery training.
Fourth, SAFETY drills are sometimes conducted by a SAFETY officer. This is a type of drama created by the knowledge of Safety personnel, in which a virtual accident is created to see how workers and employees deal with the situation if they are trained enough to deal with the situation after the accident.
Fifth, Evacuation from the site, which should be followed in an emergency.
There are many other procedures and more accidents occur. Therefore, there must be a sense of safety in the minds of employees and workers, because most accidents are due to their ignorance and mediocrity.
